Biography

Mark O. Dietrich, CPA/ABV

Mark holds a Masters of Science Degree in Taxation, an MBA with high honors, and a BSBA (Accounting), summa cum laude, Beta Gamma Sigma. He is a member of the AICPA, the Massachusetts Society of CPAs and holds the ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation) designation from the AICPA. Mark’s web address, www.cpa.net, is the leader in medical practice valuation information. He is a member of the AICPA's Healthcare Expert Panel for 2007-2008.

Mark has authored numerous materials in his areas of practice expertise, including taxation, valuation, personal and enterprise goodwill, noncompete agreements, the healthcare regulatory environment and capitated managed care in such national journals as Business Valuation Review, Shannon Pratt’s Business Valuation Update, Valuation Strategies, Healthcare Financial Management and CPA Expert as well as the definitive article on medical practice valuation in the November 2005 The Journal of Accountancy. Continuing education courses include: The Practicing CPA’s Business Valuation Course, The Practicing CPA’s Medical Practice Valuation Course, Providing Consulting Services to Physician Practices, Basic Business Valuation, and How to Win at Medicare Managed Care. His 2001/2002 Medical Practice Valuation Guide Book was peer reviewed by the country’s top valuation experts.

Mark co-authors PPC’s Guide to Healthcare Consulting and is contributing author to Shannon Pratt’s The Lawyers’ Business Valuation Handbook (published by the American Bar Association) and to Valuing Professional Practices and Licenses, A Guide for the Matrimonial Practitioner (published by Aspen). He is also on the Editorial Board of the AICPA’s CPA Expert and a frequent presenter at the AICPA National Valuation and Healthcare Industry Conferences. In addition to his healthcare industry expertise, Mark is considered an expert in the area of personal and enterprise goodwill and noncompete agreements.
